Our Mission

The Feanix Foundation was established to give Australian digital talent a head start by creating pathways to employment through education, training and "on the job" experience.

Our vision is a digital industry that advances Australian culture by showcasing Australian creative talent on the global stage.

Our mission is to provide opportunities for people with a disability to break into the digital industry and advance their industry knowledge and skills. We do this by creating opportunities for all aspirants who choose to register with us to participate in the evolving digital industry.

With our associates we create both networking events and training opportunities through internships and master classes.

Our aim - through collaboration with digital film industry professionals - is to assist people to tell real Australian stories, showcase the famed Australian culture and show off Australia's dramatic landscapes.

We aim to match individuals of all ages, backgrounds and skill sets with a variety of digital projects so that they can play a role in creating more cohesive, tolerant communities.

Our Focus

Our focus is on helping aspirants to find learning opportunities and pathways to employment and practitioners and aspiring graduates progress their careers in the digital industry.

We do this by connecting individuals with project opportunities and focussing on developing their skill set and empowering them to be the best they can be.

The digital industry needs many skill sets, some of which have yet to be defined. Our economic and social fabric is rapidly evolving. "Disruption" and "casualisation" pop up in many conversations.

Wherever on the "ability/disability" spectrum you see yourself - and whatever your skill set - a "tradie", a "creative", a "techie" - if you want to find your may in the digital industry, register with us.

Our Programs

We are currently focused on supporting the participation of disables people in the digital film industry. Our activities are structured into the three programs below. Expansion into supporting the participation of people with a disability in other areas of the digital industry is envisaged once the digital film sector element is more mature.

Creating an Inclusion Mindset in a Growing Market sector

Facilitation and encouragement of the inclusion of NDIA scheme participants and others with milder disabilities into digital film projects is an initial focus. Other streams of the digital sector will be the focus of future phases.

Fostering & Sponsoring Inclusion through Education

Building relationships with training organisations, digital industry bodies and digital film industry employers, and sponsoring activities that target the inclusion of disabled people.

Creating an Inclusion Mindset in a Growing Market sector

Focuses on collaboration to ensure the inclusion of people with disabilities into the mainstream digital film industry.

Our Organisation

The Feanix Foundation assists people with disability to break into the digital industry. We support people's continuing development of relevant capabilities, and we continue to identify and strive to close the education gaps. We do this by matching people with digital projects. Our initial focus is on projects that tell Australian stories or showcase Australian landscapes and flora and fauna.

With special focus on people with disability, Feanix plays a vital role in Australia's digital industry, serving as a platform for industry professionals to engage in learning and discussing best practices and future enhancements. Through the organisation of events such as seminars, workshops, and conferences, Feanix facilitates knowledge sharing among digital practitioners and the broader community.

By establishing strategic partnerships and engaging with various Australian and international bodies, the Feanix Foundation creates opportunities for digital trailblazers, including those who identify as "disabled", to participate in exciting digital projects. The foundation connects Australian musicians, creative artists, and professionals with projects requiring original music, design, or creative talent, fostering the ongoing education of young digital practitioners through mentorship and internship programs.

While "creatives" represent a crucial skill set in the evolving digital industry, Feanix recognizes the diverse needs of other groups within the digital landscape. The Foundation actively identifies gaps and needs in the industry, working diligently to address and close them through targeted educational and developmental initiatives.
